The Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra is a dynamic non-profit ensemble that brings together musicians from the Cape Winelands region of South Africa.

Led by the visionary guidance of founder Reghardt Kühn, this ensemble of over 50 talented musicians has garnered acclaim for its commitment to artistic innovation and community engagement.
A highlight of this year’s cultural calendar unfolds with the orchestra’s much-anticipated charity fundraising concert, set to captivate audiences with an unforgettable collaboration. On August 11th, within the hallowed halls of the NG Church building in historic Riebeek Kasteel, history will resound with the harmonies of a groundbreaking performance.
In a symphonic celebration that bridges generations and genres, the Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra joins forces with the renowned Riebeek Kasteel Steelband for an evening of musical splendor. REGHARDT KüHN – CONDUCTOR
Reghardt Kühn began his musical education in high school, learning piano, euphonium, and trombone. He played the latter two for the Empangeni High School Marching Band, which won South African Marching Band Championships twice and was also part of the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Orchestra for three years.
Reghardt began his studies at Stellenbosch University in 2010, majoring in composition and orchestration, and then studied orchestral conducting under Prof. Corvin Matei. He graduated with his BMus and MMus degrees, majoring in orchestral conducting.
Reghardt has been active as a conductor since 2011 and is the founder and conductor of the Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, and the South African National Youth Orchestra, and is working as recording conductor for music production company PolyForge Media. Reghardt has participated in various masterclasses, festivals, and competitions and is also a passionate educator with more than ten years’ experience teaching brass instruments.
